Gullinbursti Press is an author cooperative specializing in books on Vanatru and related subjects.
Gullinbursti Press is named for Gullinbursti or Gold-Bristles, the magic boar belonging to the Vanir God Frey:
…to Frey he gave the boar, stating that it would run through the air and over seas, by night or by day, faster than any horse; and never could it become so dark in the night, or in the worlds of darkness, but that it would be light where this boar was present, so bright shone his bristles.

The publishing industry does not print books that are not guaranteed to be bestsellers by the standards of the market. This is especially true for the Pagan and occult publishing world, and why books from mainstream Pagan publishing houses tend to cater to the lowest common denominator. Books that deal with the real “meat” don’t sell well by the industry’s standards because many people are not willing to look deeper. Germanic Paganism itself is a small religion with a liberal estimate of 50,000 adherents worldwide, and those who identify as Vanatru are an even smaller number. Needless to say, it is a niche subject for books.
However, as Vanatru grows, we seek to create and distribute high-quality publications for this specific audience. We chose the name Gullinbursti Press because as Frey’s boar shines in the dark and moves swiftly over the land, we hope to be a light in the darkness of the void of information, and give guidance and inspiration.
